Photography has been an important part of my life for many years. I enjoy the opportunity it gives me to both capture and interpret the world around me. While I am especially drawn to the natural world as a source of inspiration, it is the constantly changing interplay of light and shadow and the colors, textures, patterns and shapes they reveal, that provide me with new and diverse subjects. Macro photography holds a special place in my work. I am particularly fascinated by the surprisingly interesting, and otherwise unnoticed, subjects revealed in the world of the very small. Creating black and white images is a special passion of mine. I particularly enjoy the freedom if gives me to create my own interpretation of the world around me. I never lack for interesting subjects. we are surrounded by light that is never the same from one minute to the next. The world of possibilities is constantly being redrawn. We simply need to take the time to pause, look and appreciate the beauty around us.
